If you are travelling from abroad, please note that EU Citizens and Citizens of the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa are simply required to show a passport, valid for at least 6 months, to gain entry to the country.
All non-EU citizens should apply for a Visa (permission to enter) in order to travel to Ireland. However, visa requirements do change on an on-going basis so to be sure, please contact your local Irish Embassy/Consulate for specific requirements or visit www.dfa.ie for details.
It is now possible to begin your visa application on line at http://http://www.dfa.ie/home/index.aspx?id=8605 where you will find all relevant details on your visa requirements along with a list of countries whose passport holders require visas for entry to the country.
Please note, while a Schengen Visa will allow access to some EU countries it is NOT valid for entry to Ireland or the UK.
Please also note, that the Republic of Ireland is NOT part of the United Kingdom so if you are not a UK Citizen but are eligible to live in, or travel to, the UK, this may NOT be sufficient for entry to Ireland so please check this out with your local embassy.
We would also like to highlight to all delegates that Visas may be required for transient travel to Ireland. For example those who need to travel through the UK or mainland Europe before arriving in Ireland and who may require a short stay in that country between flights (or in some cases, if changing airlines, even movement between terminals or airports can cause issues if you have to leave your arrival terminal and go through security and passport control at a different terminal or airport).
Please ensure you enquire with the relevant Embassy/Consulate for the country you must travel through, regarding these requirements, once you have confirmed your travel details.
Delegates should begin this process for Visa Application as soon as possible as it can take in excess of 6 months to obtain your travel visa.
Once you have registered and paid for your registration and accommodation, the congress secretariat can issue you a letter confirming your registration which may assist you with your visa application. To obtain this letter, please e-mail registration@irspm2011.com with your registration ID number and we will forward this letter to you directly.
We trust this information is useful to you and look forward to welcoming you to Dublin in 2011.
**This information is correct as of November 2010. IRSPM XV 2011 and it’s organisers, Keynote PCO, do not take any responsibility for visa requirements changing. These can change at any time and all delegates should contact their relevant embassy to check their visa requirements before travelling.
